Careless, Dangerous or Inconsiderate Riding

Dangerous riding carries with it an automatic ban of a minimum 12 months and a compulsory extended test. It can, and does, lead to imprisonment or a community penalty. It is driving so far below the standard expected of a reasonable, prudent and competent driver in all the circumstances of the case as to be dangerous.
Careless riding is falling below the standard expected of a reasonable, prudent and competent driver in all the circumstances of the case. It carries with it 3 to 9 points, or a discretionary disqualification and a fine.
Inconsiderate riding is riding without reasonable consideration for other road users and carries with it 3 to 9 points or a discretionary disqualification and a fine.
Causing Death by careless riding carries with it up to 5 years imprisonment, a minimum 12 months disqualification, and a discretionary re-test. Causing death by dangerous riding carries with it a maximum of 14 years imprisonment and a minimum 2 years disqualification with a compulsory extended test.
